Privacy Policy
Last Updated: November 12, 2025
🔒 Our Privacy Commitment
Remind Me is designed with privacy first. All your data is stored locally by default. Email notifications are completely optional for long-term reliability.
What Data We Collect
The extension stores the following data locally on your device:
- Selected text, links, or images you choose to save as reminders
- URLs of pages where you set reminders
- Optional notes/descriptions you add to reminders
- Scheduled reminder times
- Reminder history (last 100 reminders)
- Email addresses (only if you choose to provide one)
Optional Email Notifications
Email is completely optional. By default, you'll only receive browser notifications (100% private). If you want email reminders (useful for long-term reminders when your computer might be off), you can optionally provide an email address.
When you provide an email:
- Your email and reminder content are sent to Resend.com API only at the scheduled reminder time
- We use Resend.com to deliver email notifications (Resend's Privacy Policy)
- Email addresses are stored locally on your device for convenience (autocomplete)
- You can choose not to provide an email - browser notifications will always work
Where Your Data is Stored
Local by Default: All reminder data is stored in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local).
Optional External Service: If you provide an email, reminder content is sent to Resend.com only when the reminder fires.
What We DON'T Do
- ❌ We do NOT require email - it's completely optional
- ❌ We do NOT collect analytics or tracking data
- ❌ We do NOT sell your data to anyone
- ❌ We do NOT require account creation or login
- ❌ We do NOT use cookies for tracking
- ❌ We do NOT access websites you haven't explicitly interacted with

- No data recovery after deletion (it's truly gone)
- Export functionality (planned for future release)
